Pheasants

   The pride of Hay's Lodge is our 160 acre pheasant preserve.  During the preserve season, which extends from August 1st to April 30th, we release some of the wildest roosters you'll ever have the opportunity to hunt.  All hunts on the preserve are guided by a man and dog to minimize the possibility of losing downed birds.

•  Season Dates: August 1st - April 30th yearly
•  Bag Limits: None - birds can be harvested for $15 each
•  Weapon: View the ND hunting regulations (Small Game Guide) for the current information on legal weapons and ammunition
•  License Requirements: None necessary to hunt on the preserve

Hay's Lodge has 15,000 acres of additional land on which you are welcome to hunt.  These lands are richly endowed with shelter belts, feed plots, CRP (Conservation Reserve Program) acres and cover crops to maximize your hunting experience.

The following applies to non-preserve hunting:

•  Season Dates: Review the North Dakota Game and Fish Department Web site.
•  Bag Limits: 3 birds a day (possession limit 12)
•  Weapon: Any shotgun shooting lead shot
